Goals, experience, plans and thoughts about each.

In order to keep this organized I will break it down into components.

Goals:
Often I wonder about what I want to accomplish in life. For the longest time it was completing college. That need for a degree so I could move forward, without the thought of what that really meant. What's next? I have ideas that have always appealed to me such as returning to Europe but I don't know how feasible that is, or if I care to pursue it any longer. Back to the crux of the issue, what do I need and what do I want?

Experience:
In the field of my profession I am in a constant state of worry over my own ability and decisions. My biggest frustration is that I don't have a mentor. I feel as my decisions at work are based on sound logic but I hate making mistakes and wasting time but those are bound to happen when you push your own knowledge or ability. What can I do to make my work better? to make better decisions? What information should I put my energy into to make me more valuable, hireable and skilled?

Plans:
The best things I feel I can do right now are to reduce my debt, increase my professional value, and keep my eyes open for other opportunities. I think I would love to end up in San Francisco, or even just the Boston area and be involved with a larger company doing more influential things. I want to focus on mobile apps, and do some research on broadening the offerings of Impulse. The real challenge is time. I think it's time to make a list, a schedule, and budget, and solidify my goals.

Ideas Ideas Ideas

I'm one who loves to think of ways to make things, make things better, or learn new things, but I fail to do anything after that.

Special projects I'd like to do.
- Write a calendar/event system for jcalendar
- Write a raid management system for my guild.
- Work on the FB API so I can post directly to facebook from a website (this is actually something I can do for my REAL job, so I think I'll tackle that today)
- Personal finance tracker. I know this has been done a billion times over, and I could probably just buy it, but where's the fun in that? I'd like to build something that can be easily categorized, color coded and will produce reports for me. I'm using an excel spreadsheet for my own stuff atm, but there's something nice about being able to move that to a "protected" place on the web.

Off to facebook API land.
